PESHAWAR: The 33rd National Games is set to begin on 10th November in Peshawar, around 10,000 athletes will participate in the event, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai informed journalists after visiting the main venues at Peshawar Sports Complex.
During his visit, Shaukat Yousafzai met with players and inquired about their arrangements and facilities. The players appreciated the KP government for providing the best hotel accommodations and other facilities.
Director-General Sports Asfandyar Khattak thoroughly briefed the minister about the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of the Games.
The provincial government has allocated Rs. 220 million for the National Games, which are going to be held after nine years. Beside Peshawar, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Mardan and Islamabad will also host the event.
DG sports said that for smooth conduct of the event various committees have been set up, which is supervised by Minister Sports and Tourism Muhammad Atif Khan.
