MOHMAND: Chairman Water and Power Development Authority lieutenant general Muzamil Hussain, Member National Assembly Sajid Mohmand and tribal elders visited the Mohmand Dam project area on Friday.
They expressed satisfaction over the construction work on 15.5-kilometre link road from Munda Headworks to the Dam site. The road is being constructed to transport heavy construction machinery to the dam site. The chairman WAPDA while talking to media persons said that during the construction work, some 6000 jobs opportunities will be created.
Hussain said that besides providing the compensation amount to the tribal people on time, the government is also working on providing basic facilities near the dam site such education, Health and provision of clean drinking water facilities. The WAPDA chairman added that such efforts will be much helpful in maintaining the trust of people on government efforts. He revealed that for this purpose, a hefty amount of Rs 4.6 billion has been allocated.
