PESHAWAR: Emir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has said that the government should convene an all-party conference on the Coronavirus pandemic to make an effective strategy to contain the virus.
He said that all stakeholders, including doctors, scholars and media persons to make a National Action Plan (NAP) against the pandemic. He said that there is a need to develop short-term, mid-term and long-term strategies in APC to counter the coronavirus pandemic in the country. “The APC should decide wither to impose complete lockdown in the country or not,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said that there is a “serious” shortage of oxygen in the country and to avoid a situation like India’s, the oxygen use from the industries should be diverted to hospital to prevent any dire emergency situation.
He also flayed the former Minister of Science and Technology regarding Pakistani ventilators and said that the statement proves that the former minister were kept lying to the nation about the ability of manufacturing ventilators.
He said the government should also allow private companies and NGOs to order vaccinations so that the vaccination process can be expedited. He said Al-Khidmat Foundation deserves appreciation for setting up a 25-bed Coronavirus Hospital within a few days which also includes ICU, HDU, Centralized Oxygen System, Ventilators, Portable X-rays, Specialist Doctors, and equipped Nursing Staff.
He said that soon it will be increased from 25 beds to 40 beds.
Khalid Waqas, Provincial President of Al-Khidmat Foundation, Shakir Siddiqui, Secretary General and Director of Al-Khidmat Hospital were also present on the occasion. Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that 5,000 new cases are being reported in the country every day which is “worrying”.
