PESHAWAR: Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUIF), has said that all the opposition political parties are on the same page over the ‘Azadi March’.
“It is not a single political party but the entire nation is coming towards Islamabad in protest against the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government,” claim Fazl. “All state institutions should avoid clashing with the nation and should remain neutral,” Fazl alleged that JUIF mandate has been stolen and ‘fake’ government has been imposed on the people.
While responding to CM Mehmood Khan tirade that no JUIF workers will not be allowed to enter Islamabad from KP, the JUIF chief warned that “a white rooster” is talking about stopping the march. No one will be safe even in their homes if anyone dares to stop the march by force. Fazl added they will move forward as there is no option to back down.
Fazal was addressing a gathering of JUIF security volunteers, Ansarul Islam, in Peshawar yesterday. Central General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, KP president of JUIF Atta Ur Rahman, Leader of Rahbar committee Akram Durrani also addressed the Ansar-ul-Islam volunteers.
The JUIF leadership said that they have a democratic and constitutional right to arrange peaceful protests and assured that none of the JUIF activists will cross the constitutional boundaries. JUIF leaders said their field is electoral politics, will not allow anybody to steal the people’s vote. “To avoid disputes, all the institutions have the responsibility to work within the constitutional boundaries,” said JUIF chief.
The JUIF Chief said that they want to save the country as PTI has turned it into “economy of chicken and eggs.” The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) had promised 10 million jobs but they have made 2 million people unemployed in the country. “First chickens, then buffaloes and now Langar khana have been started to transform country’s economy,” Fazl said while criticized the PTI government for its policies.
General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari in his address warned that any obstacle in the way of march would be disastrous. Haideri said that JUIF has earlier arranged marches but on October 27 the march will be three times bigger than all the previous protest rallies.
“The judiciary, legislature, democracy and foreign policy are not free. The country has been made a slave of the IMF, the country has gone bankrupt. Until free and fair elections are not held, our struggle will continue.”
Akram Durrani said that the march will be very peaceful as earlier JUIF has made 15 million marches during which not even glass was broken but any obstacle in the way of march would also provoke the peaceful workers of JUIF.
Provincial President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Attaur Rahman while addressing the volunteers said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam held several million marches throughout the country. He added that today doctors, businessmen and people from other fields are protesting against the government as PTI leadership is inefficient to run the country.
