PESHAWAR: To ensure access to the sports arena, the traffic police has announced a comprehensive integrated traffic plan for the 33rd National Games in Peshawar, this was stated by SP Traffic Aslam Nawaz while addressing to a press briefing at Media Center in Qayyum Sports Complex.

Flanked by DSP Abdur Rasheed, SP Traffic Aslam Nawaz said that they are going to close main Bara road for all types of traffic and will only allow VVIP, VIP and Players buses to be parked in front of the three gates. He said that the same would be applicable for the opening and closing ceremonies.

He said the VVIPs will reach the stadium via Mall Road. He said the VVIP and media person will park their cars in the vacant plot, adjoining DC Khyber Office. While the player’s buses would be parked on main Bara Road. He said that a total of 70 buses would be used for players pick-and-drop service from various venues, including for opening and closing ceremonies.

To avoid traffic from congestion, enhanced traffic police personnel will be deployed throughout the city, who will perform their duties in various areas of the city. The traffic police will also devise proper guideline for spectators through the use of signboards and banners in roads leading to the main stadium.
