PESHAWAR: A 24-year-old man suspected to have symptoms of coronavirus was admitted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), an official said on Sunday.

The patient was identified as Anas, a resident of Takht Bhai Tehsil in district Mardan. He was shifted to LRH after he complained of flu and fever and was admitted for further tests to avoid any unpleasant conditions, said the officials.

He has also been screened at Doha Airport earlier, but no confirmed evidence of the Coronavirus were found. Spokesperson of LRH said that a team of senior physicians and management taking care of the patient keeping in mind all precautions.

Last week, a suspected Coronavirus patient was admitted to hospital in Bajaur Tribal district. He has returned from China a month ago. Another suspect patient is admitted to hospital in Swat. However, there is no confirmed Coronavirus case in the province.

Earlier, the district administration of Shangla has formed a committee to collect data of Chinese living in the district to prevent the entry of Coronavirus. The relevant officials were directed to monitor the movements of Chinese residents.
