Trans Peshawar to launch bicycle-sharing system

The first project of its kind in Pakistan, ‘ZU Bicycle Sharing System’ will formally be inaugurated on Thursday as the Trans Peshawar officials said that all arrangements have been completed.

PESHAWAR: The first project of its kind in Pakistan, ‘ZU Bicycle Sharing System’ will formally be inaugurated on Thursday as the Trans Peshawar officials said that all arrangements have been completed.

According to a spokesman for Trans Peshawar, the ZU bicycle project will have 32 docking stations and 360 modern bicycles that can be used by both men and women. The Spokesperson said that after the successful launch of BRT service, the Zu Bicycle Project would be another project which will provide healthy, eco-friendly and easy travel facility to citizens.

Talking about fare, the officials said with monthly packages, first 30 minutes ride is free and after 31 to 60 minutes Rs10 and Rs15 from 61 to 90 minutes while Rs20 from 90 minutes to 120 minutes. Rs60 per hour will be charged after two hours.
